Suedstadt: a central and supremely popular part of town between Marienstrasse and Maschsee

General

The Suedstadt is a popular part of town lying south westerly of the city centre of Hannover. The Suedstadt has a total of 38.477 inhabitants. Together with the city part Bult (Suedstadt-Bult) these are a total of 41.486 inhabitants.

Leisure time

In the Suedstadt many recreation areas, as for example the biggest waters of Hannover, the Maschsee (*1-3) that is energized by the river Leine or the Sportpark (*4) are as well as many venues like the AWD football arena (*5), the theatre Am Aegi (*6) or the Schützenplatz (*7-8) where the the world famous Schuetzenfest takes place which is a public magnet yearly in July.
